4th of July Parade

The Friendswood 4th of July parade is this Friday!  Once again the Scouts of Pack 442 will be decorating their bikes and riding in the parade. This year’s theme is “Friendswood: Small Town, Big Hearts”. We will meet in the parking lot of Comerica Bank 203 S. Friendswood Drive (FM 518) starting around 9:15AM.

All entrants will be judged as the parade reaches City Hall on how well they’ve decorated their bikes. A special trophy will be awarded to the best decorated bicycle in each of the three age groups: 7 and under; 8 – 12; and 13 and up. Ribbons will be awarded for second and third place in each of those categories.

All kids riding their bikes in the parade must be registered with either my wife Denise or me that morning. You will be asked to provide the name of your scout, the name of the adult that will be picking them up at City Hall, and a
contact phone number. Siblings and their parents are welcome to ride with us. The parade starts at 10:00AM.

Bike helmets are required for all riders.

Adults are encouraged to walk the parade with the Pack (Tiger parents must accompany their child in the parade); however if you are not going to do so, we ask that you watch the parade from in front of City Hall – that way you’ll be able to pick up your child(ren) immediately after we finish. Pick up will be before the rest of the parade is complete, but there are no facilities there for us to keep the children together. At City Hall, the adult on the registration list will need to sign out the child(ren) on the same form used to sign in.
